In keeping with the theme of my thoughts this week (see "Waiting"), I wanted to share a verse a friend shared with me today. It touched me.
"You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!" Isa 26:3 (NLT)
"You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you." Isa 26:3 (NIV)
Both translations make clear that our thoughts, centered on the God and his principles can lead us to "perfect peace" ...what a wonderful thing to desire and seek in times of waiting!
When we can so easily let our minds wander to things besides being steadfast on Him, we can lead ourselves right into a world of anxiety and frustration ...the opposite of his perfect peace.
What an encouragement to keep our thoughts on track, to center our thinking on what we trust in and be "steadfast" in those promises.
Of course, we cannot escape such a topic without visiting one of my favorites "Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable; if anything be excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received from me, or seen in me - put it into practice. And the peace of God will be with you!" Philippians 4:8-9
What do you do to keep your mind steadfast in Him?
Courtney, I love the notion that our God is the Prince of Peace, Lord of the Sabbath and he invites us into his perpetual rest. Thanks for such a great reminder!

P.S. Did you see the article I wrote about God's rest last month? I linked it through my name here, and would love to hear your thoughts on it!
Hey! Thanks Tim! I will check that link out! Thanks for the comment :)
